AGA gives back to the community.
Artist Guild of Anchorage's mission includes providing scholarships and training opportunities to under-served areas in creative arts.
Three AGA Community Outreach members were honored to collaborate with art classes for 3rd and 4th grade boys and their teacher, Donyalle Jackson, at West End School, serving under-served Louisville Metro Communities. As a scholarship-based independent school, WES maintains a culture of high expectations, integrity, and responsibility, with tuition fully covered by donations.
Over three Thursdays, Kathy Finnegan, assisted by Kathleen Matthews and Jeanne Blackburn, led art sessions focusing on the element of Art - Line using diverse drawing techniques. This experience was particularly rewarding, as we taught, connected with students, and observed their joy.
AGA applauds the efforts of Kathy Finnegan, Kathleen Mathews and Jeanne Blackburn, along with our AGA President, Kat Lewis for their commitment and dedication to support creative art and our community! This initiative is central to our mission, and we take pride in our involvement. Hats off!

The images convey the joy and delight experienced by our members, the children, and the teacher.
This partnership creates a positive outcome for everyone involved.
