When Kathy was in third grade, she realized that she had an ability to draw. That interest was nurtured as she grew into adulthood. In college, she determined to pursue art education as a career. That served Kathy well, as she taught art to students, K-8, for 20 years. Kathy thoroughly enjoyed her teaching career, and found it fascinating how young children enthusiastically approach their own art in such wonderfully imaginative and creative ways. Simply stated, their art inspires her!
Kathy's thoughts on art: "I believe that art, or some creative outlet, should be available and enjoyed by every age group. The earlier one can be exposed to the arts, the better! Such exposure and expression may be achieved through the visual arts, performing arts, and related disciplines. It is my belief that involvement/exposure in any of these can be an essential element in the formation of one’s ever developing character."
A word about her paintings (below): "I really enjoy painting horses. They are, to me, a most noble, beautiful and proud beast!"
